The Wood River Women’s Foundation is celebrating 20 years of collective giving and community impact in the Wood River Valley. Since its founding in 2005 by Barbara Thrasher and Jo Murray, the foundation has grown into a powerhouse of local philanthropy, awarding nearly $5 million in grants to 294 initiatives that strengthen the community. In 2025 alone, WRWF awarded $375,000 to 25 nonprofits, supporting programs that span health, education, environment, and the arts.
With a mission centered on informed, collaborative giving, WRWF brings together over 300 members to identify and fund projects that meet pressing local needs. Their thoughtful and sustained investment in the Valley has made a measurable difference in the lives of many and reflects the power of women-led generosity.
As part of the 2025 “Days of the Old West” celebration, WRWF has been selected by the Hailey Fourth of July Committee to serve as Grand Marshal of the annual Independence Day parade. The parade, one of the region’s most cherished events, will take place on July 4 at noon and is a highlight of the multi-day festivities that also include the Sawtooth Rangers Rodeo.
