Become a Member of the Wood River Women’s Foundation
Join a community of women coming together to learn, connect, and make a meaningful impact in
the Wood River Valley. Together, we pool our resources to support local nonprofits and fund grants that create positive change in our community. Since our founding in 2005, WRWF has awarded over $5 million to nonprofits serving Blaine County.
There’s a Place for You Here

Every woman in our community is welcome at WRWF. No invitation required—just a desire to connect, learn, and give back. At WRWF, membership is more than a donation—it’s a shared commitment to strengthening our community.
WRWF brings members together all year through social gatherings, grantee field trips, committee work, and a wide range of events designed to connect you with fellow members and the organizations we support. Understanding Membership
Any woman over 21 years old is welcome to join the Wood River Women’s Foundation! You do not need to be invited to join or be a full-time local resident. We welcome all!
WRWF brings members together all year long through social gatherings, grantee field trips, and a wide range of events designed to connect you with fellow members and the organizations we support. You can see the variety of events we host on our Calendar and in our News Briefs. There are also plenty of ways to deepen your involvement through Committees and volunteer opportunities. For those just getting started, our New Member Orientations provide a welcoming introduction to WRWF and clear paths to getting involved.
At the heart of it all—and the most exciting part of our year—is our annual Grants cycle. This is when members play a direct role in making an impact. We begin accepting grant applications early in the year, building momentum toward member voting in the spring, when our members help decide which organizations receive funding.
We welcome members to join at any time throughout the year. Membership terms are 12 months and renew each year on the date you joined.
Please visit our Membership page and click “Become a Member” to join. If you prefer to mail in your membership form, you can find a printable version here.
We understand that our members have different availability to participate and volunteer—each person can choose the level of involvement that works best for them. One of our Core Values is that we welcome every member to engage at whatever level she chooses.
Our most important activity is voting on our annual Grant awards and electing our leadership. This is how we shape our collective impact. But we make voting online as easy as possible! So even if you’re not able to volunteer or attend events, you’re still an essential part of our collective effort. By pooling our funds and participating as you’re able, every member helps make our work in the community possible—and deeply meaningful.

In recognition of the key role younger women play in the long-term sustainability of WRWF, the Foundation created WRWF’s Future Forward membership in 2021. This is a full membership for women aged 50 and younger at a more affordable donation rate. Future Forward membership is $600 per year with $500 going into our Pooled Grants Fund and $100 to our Program & Operations Fund.
WRWF also offers a lower cost membership level to nonprofit employees to welcome women who are already deeply engaged in serving our community. This initiative supports our mission by building a vibrant, connected network of women committed to philanthropy. By making membership more accessible to nonprofit employees, we celebrate their contributions, amplify their voices, and inspire a more diverse and dynamic culture of giving.
This membership level is open to women who work for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or other tax-exempt organization. It is designed to include those serving our community through mission-driven work, such as nonprofit staff, public school teachers, librarians, and employees of local government entities. If your employer would qualify for a WRWF grant, you are qualified to apply at the Nonprofit Employee membership level!
Please contact us at info@woodriverwomensfoundation.org so we can discuss options!
If you know a woman who would be a great addition to WRWF, you can support her membership by becoming a sponsor. Members have the option to donate toward another woman’s membership, helping expand our community and the impact we make together. If you’re interested in sponsoring someone, please contact us directly at info@woodriverwomensfoundation.org and we’ll walk you through the next steps.
New Donation Tiers
Three changes will be effective June 1, 2026:
The changes will be effective on June 1, 2026. New members who join after June 1 will see these changes. The new tiers will be in effect for all existing members on their membership renewal date. No action is needed until your next renewal date.
We will turn off automatic renewal for members currently on auto-renew so that they may select the membership level that works for them. You will receive a reminder when your membership is up for renewal to login and select your new membership level. When you renew at your new membership donation tier, you can select to go back on auto-renew for your membership going forward.
If you are a current member, you do not need to do anything until your membership is up for renewal. At that time, you will be asked to renew within our new membership donation tier structure. You will determine the best donation level for you.
WRWF membership is not changing! No matter the amount a member donates, we all remain equal members—united in our shared commitment to our mission. All rights and privileges of membership, including voting, remain the same for everyone. Each member will continue to receive one vote in our Grants cycle and on WRWF governance ballots.
WRWF added new levels of giving to ensure it can continue fulfilling its mission: to amplify the power of women’s collective giving to support the Wood River Valley’s non-profits and create positive change in our community. To do that effectively, the organization needs both a strong, engaged membership and a sustainable financial foundation. Over the past 20 years, the Wood River Valley has evolved—community needs have increased and operating costs have risen, particularly in recent years. The changes to our tiers are intended to reflect those realities by encouraging broader participation, offering more flexible giving options, and ensuring administrative funding keeps pace with current demands.
The decision to adopt the Membership Donation Tiers followed a year of thoughtful, strategic discussions by the WRWF Board, grounded in the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability. The Board reviewed existing membership structures and donation levels, which have remained mostly unchanged over time, and evaluated how other women’s collective giving groups have adapted their models. The proposal was developed and refined collaboratively with input from the Finance and Membership Committees, along with consultation from the Presidents Council, to ensure a well-informed and balanced approach.
