The Power of Collective Giving

How WRWF is Transforming the Wood River Valley

For nearly two decades, the Wood River Women’s Foundation (WRWF) has demonstrated the profound impact of women’s collective giving, funding local nonprofits that uplift and strengthen the Wood River Valley. By pooling resources, WRWF members ensure that nonprofits receive the financial support they need to make lasting changes in all areas of our community, including the arts, education, healthcare, environmental conservation, and social services.
Since its founding in 2005, WRWF has awarded nearly $5 million in 242 grants, directly benefiting organizations that provide essential services to the Wood River Valley community. In 2024 alone, WRWF granted over $500,000 to 27 incredible organizations, continuing its mission to amplify community impact through philanthropy.

How WRWF’s Pooled Fund Works

WRWF members contribute annually, creating a Pooled Fund that is distributed to nonprofits following a grant review and vote open to all WRWF members. The impact of this approach is far-reaching, strengthening programs that benefit individuals and families across the valley.

Since applications are voted on by members of WRWF, the grants reflect the collective vision of our members and priorities of our community. By funding initiatives across all aspects of life in the valley, including the arts, health, education, environmental conservation, and social services, WRWF enables local nonprofits to expand their programs and make a deeper impact.

WRWF’s 2024 Grant Recipients: Driving Community Change

In 2024, WRWF awarded funding to 27 organizations that are making tangible differences in the community. From housing support, education and youth development to mental health resources and environmental stewardship, these grants support critical services that enhance the quality of life in the Wood River Valley.

Each dollar invested by WRWF members multiplies in impact, strengthening nonprofits’ abilities to serve more people, develop new programs, and sustain their missions for years to come.

Why Women’s Collective Giving Matters

Collective giving is about more than just pooling financial resources—it’s about empowering women to take an active role in philanthropy and strengthening the bonds within our community. WRWF fosters a network of engaged and informed women who work together to identify challenges, fund solutions, and drive meaningful change.

By leveraging the power of collaboration, WRWF ensures that local nonprofits have the resources they need to address urgent needs, build capacity, and implement sustainable programs. Through their generosity and dedication, WRWF members help shape a stronger, more vibrant Wood River Valley for generations to come.
