Blaine County Charitable Fund
Life can change in an instant—an unexpected medical bill, job loss, or car repair can push a family from stability to survival. For many in Blaine County, the high cost of living leaves little room for error. That’s why the Blaine County Charitable Fund (BCCF) exists: to provide immediate, meaningful financial assistance to individuals and families facing crises. In 2025, the Wood River Women’s Foundation (WRWF) granted $25,000 to BCCF’s Emergency Financial Assistance Programs, helping fill the gap for those one step away from housing insecurity, hunger, or the inability to pay for basic utilities.

Meeting Urgent Needs with Compassion and Dignity

BCCF was founded to support community members through short-term hardships while connecting them to long-term resources. The WRWF-funded Emergency Assistance Program provides help with:

  • Rent and mortgage payments to prevent eviction or foreclosure

  • Utility bills to keep the heat, lights, and water on

  • Gas, groceries, and childcare costs for families in sudden need

  • Medical bills and transportation during emergency situations

In 2024, BCCF served more than 400 households, providing over $300,000 in direct assistance. With WRWF’s 2025 grant, even more families will receive help during their most vulnerable moments.

Breaking the Cycle of Crisis

What sets BCCF apart is its focus on collaborative, wraparound support. Recipients aren’t just given one-time aid—they’re connected with social workers, job assistance programs, and other local nonprofits to develop long-term stability.

WRWF’s grant helps BCCF deepen these efforts, allowing more case managers to serve clients, more outreach to happen in rural communities, and more follow-up care that leads to real outcomes—like families remaining housed, children staying in school, and adults returning to work.

Strengthening the Social Safety Net

As Blaine County continues to experience housing shortages and inflation-driven cost-of-living spikes, community-wide support is essential. WRWF’s investment in BCCF is an investment in a stronger, more equitable Wood River Valley—where no one has to face crisis alone.

This grant reflects WRWF’s core belief in women-led, community-powered philanthropy that uplifts individuals, stabilizes families, and makes a real difference in everyday lives.
