The power of pooled money is awesome, no matter who you are or how much you have. It’s the latest philanthropic tool using the power of community investors. The Wood River Women’s Charitable Foundation is a local example of 130 women united in their desire to address emerging issues pertinent to the community in the area of arts, education, environment, social services and health. In the past seven years, these women have given $1,000 a year to the foundation with up to half eligible to be earmarked for a favored charity, and the other half into the pool.
