Jo was a founding member and first president of WRWF. In the nonprofit arena, she has served on advisory boards of the Lawrence Hall of Science at the University of California, Berkeley; the Last Monday Club, an organization of professional women in Oakland, California; and the Oakland-Nakhodka (Russia) Sister City Association. She worked with the Rotary Club of Oakland to send Americana business owners to Nakhodka to teach children about the free enterprise system in the years after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Professionally, she is principal of Jo Murray Public Relations, serving San Francisco and the Sun Valley and Boise areas. She previously was a reporter and editorial page editor of The Tribune newspaper in Oakland California. She has served as a board member of the Public Relations Round Table of San Francisco, the nation’s oldest public relations organization; as president of the East Bay chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, and as a board member of Capital City Communicators in Boise.
