Peggy Grove, Ph. D., president of Wood River Women’s Foundation (WRWF), will tell you that philanthropy has played a role in every major civilization. And as civilization has evolved, so has giving. WRWF and its more than 300 members believe by developing leadership skills in women and by pooling their charitable contributions they “can bring about significant, positive change”.
After a period of decline following the economic downturn, nationwide charitable giving has experienced a dramatic increase. According to Giving USA 2018: The Annual Report on Philanthropy for the Year 2017, “Powered by a booming stock market and a strong economy, charitable giving by American individuals, foundations, and corporations to U.S. charities surged to an estimated $410.02 billion in 2017”. This is the first time giving has exceeded $400 billion in a single year.

Wood River Women’s Foundation Partners With Idaho Association For The Education Of Young Children To Create The Wood River Early Learning Collaborative
